The Natural Capital Project is expanding the InVEST software with a suite of urban ecosystem service models. These models map measure and value the benefits of incorporating nature into urban design as we strive for sustainable and livable cities. In this training session, we will introduce two new urban models: the Urban Cooling and Urban Flood Mitigation models. We will explain what the models can be used for and we will train you in the basics for using them. We will train you to apply the Urban Cooling model in the first sub-session and train you to apply the Urban Flood Mitigation model in the second sub-session.
We run this training on the assumption that participants have basic knowledge of what InVEST software is and can be used for as a basis for this training. To acquire this basic knowledge, you can follow the "Getting started with InVEST Hands-on training" on Monday March 16, starting at 2.00 PM.
The venue accommodates 30 participants and we will run the training on a first-come first-served basis.
